Sometimes, you feel a little grouchy. Sometimes you feel a little sad. Sometimes you just don’t want to make decisions anymore and kinda want to leave it all to the flip of a coin – will people see “Nice RunnerWife” or “Dark RunnerWife”? This morning’s breakfast is similarly two faced:
Looks like it’s going to be a little dark and rainy here in the Big Apple so I’m going to bundle myself up in a cozy sweater, pull on my polka dot galoshes and hole up for a long day. I’ve packed these goodies to keep my spirits up during the day:
On one side of the coin, the ingredient list isn’t quite as short as I’d like, but on the other, it’s much shorter than some:
And the nutrient label isn’t half bad:
I had another chicken vindaloo in the freezer, but after reading Gena’s thoughtful post last night, I really do want to cut back on meat intake. On one side of the coin, I’m not going to let the food I already have go to waste (b/c that’d be a lot of money wasted too!). On the other side of the coin, I’ll probably buy less of it and make sure the meat I do buy is free range and organic. At the very least, I’ll be doing some good for the environment and my body. Perhaps I’ll have a Thanksgiving plate of only side dishes?
PS Look at my beautiful, glowing wonderful baby sister and her hubby!!! I love you two and can’t wait to see you this Christmas!

hey girl! sorry to hear that all has not been blissful on the UES. Sorry to not get back to you about running, my running has been a bit on the fritz and I didn’t want to die on you! but let’s get together asap 🙂
I love your breakfast two-face 🙂
Thanks, beautiful!!
You sound like me 6 months ago! I wanted to change what I was eating, including cutting meat (or at least the non-worthy kind) but didn’t want to do some purge that involved throwing things out, so I just ate down everything in my kitchen to the point where I now have such a clean supply of food it makes me so happy! I also agree with you on the Thanksgiving subject – there will be no turkey for me this year (plus I’ll be in Japan so it won’t be that hard to avoid, haha).
That TJ’s bowl is a new one to me. Looks pretty darn good actually! Hope “Nice Runnerwife” gets to make an appearance today! You’re the bestest. 🙂
Aww thanks, lovely! The TJs bowl was good, but almost it had almost too much seasoning for the simple soba base. It think it would be perfect suped up with loads of extra veggies though. Must try this for a lazy at-home dinner sometime.
Yea, I imagine turkey isn’t so big in Japan 😉
Nice Runnerwife finally showed up after I pounded out 4 miles at the gym!
