Wednesday began rather groggily (is that a word?). I have to start blogging earlier so I can get my beauty sleep! To start me off on the right foot, I enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast while tidying the apartment: 1/2 cup Fage Total Greek yogurt and the other half of the Glo bar I started yesterday before my run (280 cal). It was like my own improvised version of Glo-nola! 🙂
I used to eat Fage constantly after our honeymoon last June. Every morning in Santorini I had Greek yogurt with granola and dried fruit. I think I must have almost OD’d on the stuff at some point b/c I got out of the habit and found my way to other “amazing” breakfasts like Amazing Grass green monsters, freshly pressed juices, nut butters on toast, etc. I could go on and on!
Something about the cooler weather had me craving some hearty, full fat yogurt and this hit the spot.
I joined one of my lovely coworkers for lunch and we shared a fabulous appetizer of stuffed mushrooms (250 cal). We each had 2 1/2 caps and they were perfect – not too oily, crispy filling, yummy! For my main course, I had a whole wheat wrap with grilled salmon, avocado, red onion, tomato and fresh arugula (400 cal). The wrap was MASSIVE so I only ate half, along with a few bites of the orecchiette pasta salad (100 cal) that came on the side of the dish. I didn’t take any pictures since I was out with a colleague and I have to estimate calories, but such is life 🙂
Just before I took Bodhi out for a jog, I had a few roasted peanuts and bites of pineapple (100 cal). After our run, I had the second half of my monster wrap (400 cal), more pineapple (50 cal) and the last portion of the pasta salad (100 cal) from lunch. I also added about a tablespoon of Fage Total (50 cal) as my “sauce” for the wrap b/c I’d ordered it without the cilantro mayo.
For dessert, I had two squares of Newman’s Own Orange Dark Chocolate (120 cal).
This chocolate seemed to have the perfect essence of orange in it. It was very flavorful, but not overpowering. And the best part was how satisfied I felt after just those two squares!
